The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Tonin takes one on the chin but seems OK.

It looks like Teddy Tonin has been cut.

Markov drops Tonin with a nice combination! Markov dives into Tonin's guard, looking to finish!
Markov is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Cats Killers Academy Mma that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Markov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tonin is proving hard to escape from.
Tonin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Markov controls the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tonin is looking for a triangle but Markov pushes his legs off easily.

Markov gets to his feet - Tonin follows without any prompting.

Markov drops Tonin with a right and a left! Markov comes rushing in but Tonin regains his composure and manages to keep Markov in guard.

Markov pounces like a tiger and cracks Tonin with a vicious hook! Tonin is down but not out! Markov follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Alexey Markov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
