Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Squires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Sylvia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Squires!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Sylvia!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sylvia tries for a takedown but Squires sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sylvia tries to work over Squires's front leg with a kick but Squires checks it.

Sylvia feints and as Squires raises his hands in defense, Sylvia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Squires is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Squires is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Squires is on top in guard.
Sylvia trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Squires wants to get up but he can't break Sylvia's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Squires controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sylvia manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Squires is trying to escape the mount.

Sylvia avoids the attempt from Squires to control.
Sylvia unloads with some shots from mount but Squires bucks and avoids them well.

Squires bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Squires seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Squires does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

You can see the frustration on Squires's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Sylvia counters with a single leg into guard. Squires didn't expect that.

Squires looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sylvia is one step ahead there.

Tim Sylvia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sylvia shoots in looking for a takedown. Squires tries to sprawl out of it but Sylvia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Squires manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Sylvia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Squires. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Squires pushes Sylvia off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Sylvia tries a body shot but Squires blocks it.
Squires wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Sylvia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
