Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Butch Harris Jr (ranked 4390 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alberto Ferrari (ranked 3053 p4p, 437 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Butch Harris Jr has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Butch Harris Jr seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrari misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Harris Jr.
Ferrari just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromHarris Jr.

Harris Jr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ferrari's guard.
Harris Jr is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Harris Jr stands and steps away. Ferrari gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Harris Jr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferrari is trying to control but Harris Jr passes into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ferrari can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harris Jr's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Harris Jr has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Harris Jr.

Harris Jr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ferrari.

Harris Jr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Harris Jr in particular looking to stall.
Butch Harris Jr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Harris Jr is stinking the place up with his stalling.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Ferrari throws a hook but Harris Jr avoids it easily.
Harris Jr is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Ferrari.

and Harris Jr counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Harris Jr.
Harris Jr is trying to pull guard but Ferrari turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Harris Jr wants a takedown but no success here.
Ferrari tries to break free but Harris Jr pushes him back against the cage.
Harris Jr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ferrari can do to turn this around?
Harris Jr has Ferrari pressed against the cage, preventing Ferrari from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Harris Jr tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Ferrari avoids it.
Harris Jr is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ferrari is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Butch Harris Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harris Jr tries to score a body lock takedown but Ferrari shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Harris Jr jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ferrari walks away with a smile on his face. Harris Jr gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ferrari throws the left hand but Harris Jr avoids the punch easily.

Alberto Ferrari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harris Jr drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


It looks like Butch Harris Jr has been cut.
Alberto Ferrari is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Harris Jr forces Ferrari back against the cage and clinches.
Harris Jr stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Harris Jr wants to take the fight to the mat but Ferrari manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Ferrari has Harris Jr pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Harris Jr manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ferrari tries to circle away but Harris Jr has him pinned against the cage.

Harris Jr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ferrari keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Harris Jr has closed the distance and engaged Ferrari in a clinch.
Harris Jr creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Ferrari is trying to force a seperation but Harris Jr has the dominant position.

Harris Jr jumps guard.

Harris Jr wants to sweep here but Ferrari controlling him for the moment.
Harris Jr controlling the position.
Ferrari wants to get up but he can't break Harris Jr's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Ferrari content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Harris Jr has locked up a guillotine! Harris Jr's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Ferrari is holding on here and Harris Jr must be using up a lot of energy. Ferrari has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Harris Jr gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
