Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Carpenter (ranked 1643 p4p, 250 weight class) and Show Gunn (ranked 2851 p4p, 418 weight class). Show Gunn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben Carpenter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Show Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carpenter throws a leg kick but Gunn moved away.
Gunn lets loose with a powerful body kick. Carpenter will feel that in the morning.
Gunn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carpenter manages to avoid it.
Carpenter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Ferocious Beast in the buildup to the fight.
Gunn tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Carpenter is able to avoid easily.
A lazy left from Carpenter finds it's target.

It looks like Show Gunn has been cut.
Carpenter moves away from the strike by Gunn.
Carpenter missing with a left hand there. Gunn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gunn lands a head shot.
Gunn connects with a good right hand that stumbles Carpenter. Carpenter circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gunn fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Gunn looks to land a right hand but Carpenter moved out of range.
Carpenter lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gunn at a distance.
Gunn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carpenter moves away.
Gunn pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A slapping leg kick lands for Gunn.
Carpenter will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gunn lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Carpenter lands a left and a right that send Gunn crashing to the mat, dazed. Carpenter thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Gunn throws a chopping leg kick but Carpenter manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Show Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunn misses with an uppercut
and Carpenter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Gunn is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gunn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carpenter moves away.
Gunn is still on wobbly legs! Can Carpenter finish him?
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Carpenter checks a leg kick.
Gunn seems to have recovered his senses.
Gunn lands with a good body shot.
Gunn gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Carpenter counters with a nice uppercut.
Carpenter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunn.
Gunn lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Ben Carpenter has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gunn moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Carpenter scores with a leg kick.
Carpenter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gunn pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Carpenter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gunn.
Carpenter cracks Gunn with a good jab.

That has opened up Show Gunn's cut even more.
Gunn misses with a looping right.
As Gunn looks to move away, Carpenter throws a big counter combo but Gunn just gets out of the way.
Gunn takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Carpenter closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Gunn! Carpenter dives in looking to finish! Gunn is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
