The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lapris shoots in and bounces Rodd off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lapris's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lapris sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rodd's guard.
Lapris frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lapris pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The referee warns Rodd that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Rodd is rocked!
Lapris unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Rodd wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Lapris celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Carlos Lapris was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
