PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edilson Muniz (ranked 6670 p4p, 530 weight class) and Skylar Roberts (ranked 5412 p4p, 480 weight class). Roberts comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Audience Of One kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Skylar Roberts was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Muniz scores with a takedown into Roberts's guard.
Muniz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roberts swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Muniz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Muniz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Muniz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Muniz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Roberts looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Roberts looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Roberts!

Muniz is trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Roberts is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Muniz has escaped the position, nice work there.
Roberts lands a decent elbow from side control.
Muniz manages to work his way to half guard, despite Roberts's best efforts.

Muniz has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Roberts. Oh but Muniz has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Roberts goes limp - he's gone! Muniz jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
