Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ruben Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Van Damme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fred Van Damme acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruben Carr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Van Damme!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carr swats away the attempt to clinch by Van Damme.
Van Damme tries to close the distance and clinch but Carr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Van Damme throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Van Damme is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Van Damme tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Van Damme wants to clinch.
Van Damme moves in looking to clinch but Carr pushes him off.
Van Damme lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Van Damme scores with a head kick. Carr tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Van Damme uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carr.

Van Damme pushes Carr up against the cage in a clinch.
Van Damme wants to get back to striking at distance but Carr won't allow it.
Van Damme is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Carr is defending well for now.

Carr lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Van Damme wants to break free but Carr has control.
Carr has had enough of the clinch but Van Damme keeps him there for the moment.
Carr tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Carr tries to land knees in the clinch but Van Damme avoids the damage to the body.

Van Damme breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carr misses with a wild body shot.

Carr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Van Damme tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Van Damme has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Carr shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Van Damme defends it nicely.
Carr throws a body shot but no joy.
And Van Damme responds with a good body kick, but Carr manages to step out the way in time.
Van Damme tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Carr goes for a double leg but Van Damme avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Van Damme continues to drive forward.
Van Damme misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Carr with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Van Damme tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Van Damme escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Van Damme throws a sloppy head kick and Carr moves out of range easily.
Fred Van Damme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carr takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Carr closes the distance and clinches up with Van Damme, looking for a takedown. Carr pushes Van Damme against the cage but Van Damme circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ruben Carr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Van Damme moves in looking to clinch but Carr pushes him off.
Carr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Van Damme avoids it really well and circles away.
Van Damme lands with a kick to the ribs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Carr swats away the attempt to clinch by Van Damme.
Carr appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Van Damme enables Carr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Van Damme manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Carr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Van Damme is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carr is controlling him.
Carr scoring with punches to the head and body.

Carr cracks Van Damme with a solid left hand.
Van Damme wants to stand but Carr is controlling the position.

Carr is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Van Damme is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Van Damme has escaped and now he's on top!


Van Damme gets to his feet. Carr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Van Damme tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carr swats him away and circles back towards the center.

It looked like Carr was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Van Damme moves into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Carr just misses with a elbow thrown towards Van Damme's brow.

Van Damme manages to break the clinch.

Carr blocks a head kick by Van Damme.
Carr avoids the head kick by Van Damme.
Van Damme fails with an attempt to clinch.
Carr half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Van Damme closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Carr tries to break the clinch but Van Damme is controlling the position.

Van Damme avoids the elbow strike from Carr, against the cage.
Van Damme blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Carr misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Van Damme keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Carr's efforts to push away.
Carr is trying to push Van Damme away but Van Damme has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Van Damme escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carr looks to score with a jab to the body but Van Damme is just out of range.
Van Damme works over Carr's head and body with a nice combination.
Van Damme throws a sloppy head kick and Carr moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Van Damme showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Carr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Carr shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Van Damme as he avoids it easily.
Carr swings for the body but Van Damme moves out of range.
Carr tries to score with a low kick but Van Damme moves his leg out of the way.
Van Damme tries a head kick but it misses.
Van Damme is looking to clinch but Carr is avoiding it.
Van Damme goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Carr is looking to wear down Van Damme with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Van Damme throws a head kick that misses.

Van Damme closes the distance and clinches.
Carr wants to get back to striking at distance but Van Damme won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carr looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Carr is pushing Van Damme up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Carr prevents Van Damme from breaking the clinch.

Van Damme gets control of Carr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Van Damme will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Van Damme preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Carr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Van Damme dives on top into guard.

Carr wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Van Damme has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Van Damme tries to stand but Carr is controlling from the bottom.
Carr lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Carr has gone for a leg lock! Van Damme slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carr's guard.

Carr is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Van Damme wants to stand and escape but instead Carr has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Carr with a flurry of punches that miss.
Carr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carr stands up over Van Damme, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Carr throwing strikes but missing.
Carr won't allow Van Damme to get back to his feet.
Ruben Carr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Carr is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Van Damme is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Van Damme has escaped and now he's on top!


Van Damme decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carr throws a sloppy head kick and Van Damme moves out of range easily.
Ruben Carr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fred Van Damme is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Van Damme moves in looking to clinch but Carr pushes him off.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fred Van Damme comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Van Damme has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
