PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Gracie (ranked 156 p4p, 24 weight class) and Jed Knight (ranked 440 p4p, 67 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with Jiu Jitsu: Vai Finaliza! blaring out of the sound system. Jed Knight will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ramon Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jed Knight!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries to score with a low kick but Knight moves his leg out of the way.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Knight swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A big right from Knight misses.

Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Knight throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Gracie throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Knight stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Gracie feints and then cracks Knight's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Knight down.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ramon Gracie will probably get the nod.

Ramon Gracie decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
The defeated Jed Knight had this to say: 'Back to the lab. I'll be back though.'.
