Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kev Luchiano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yami Kami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kev Luchiano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yami Kami!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luchiano with a lazy takedown attempt

and Kami counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kami.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kami has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Luchiano closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kami to the mat! Kami manages to get full guard.
Kami wants to sweep here but Luchiano controlling him for the moment.

Kami has his foot on Luchiano's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Luchiano works his way back into a safe position though.

Luchiano drops back looking for a leg! Kami is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kami manages to kick Luchiano off! Luchiano jumps back into Kami's guard.
Kami is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Kami working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Luchiano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Luchiano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Luchiano drops back looking for a leg! Kami is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kami manages to kick Luchiano off! Luchiano jumps back into Kami's guard.

Luchiano postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kami is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Luchiano, into his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Luchiano is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Luchiano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kami can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Luchiano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kami paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kami forces Luchiano back against the cage and clinches.

Kami manages to break the clinch.

Kami shoots in and gets a takedown into Luchiano's guard.

Kami slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kami comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Luchiano gets tackled into the cage by Kami. Kami maintains the clinch.

Kami breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Luchiano tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kami sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Luchiano somewhat.

Luchiano closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kami circles away.

Kami shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Luchiano manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kami decides to stand back up. Kami steps back and let's Luchiano get back to his feet.

Kami fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Luchiano, pushing him back against the cage.

Kami breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kev Luchiano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well Kami has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
