Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Waldo Nunez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Waldo Nunez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Henry Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunez is looking to clinch but Ellis is avoiding it.
Ellis shoots in looking for a takedown but Nunez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ellis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
No luck for Nunez with that takedown attempt.
Ellis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ellis looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ellis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nunez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ellis defends it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nunez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Nunez is looking to stand up but Ellis isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ellis shoots for a double leg takedown but Nunez sprawls well. He's pushed Ellis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nunez went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Nunez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ellis napping and manages to drive through into side control!

It seemed like Ellis was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Ellis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ellis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ellis is looking to clinch but Nunez is avoiding it.

That was a close round but I would say that Waldo Nunez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ellis shoots in looking for a takedown. Nunez tries to sprawl out of it but Ellis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nunez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nunez throws a big counter combination but Ellis scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Nunez closes the distance and clinches up with Ellis, looking for a takedown. Nunez pushes Ellis against the cage but Ellis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A combination from Ellis does no damage.
Nunez tries a head kick but it misses.
Nunez dives in and grabs Ellis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ellis pushes down on Nunez's head and hops out.

Ellis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ellis wants it to stay on the feet.

Nunez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nunez gets to his feet. Ellis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Nunez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ellis as he jumps to the side.

Ellis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nunez to the mat! Nunez manages to get full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nunez wants to get back to his feet but Ellis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ellis wants to stand and escape but instead Nunez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Nunez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Ellis has hold of Nunez's hands but Nunez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nunez lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nunez tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ellis controls his leg.

Ellis wants to control but Nunez is keeping busy.
Nunez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ellis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Nunez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ellis defends it well.
Nunez is nestled in close to Ellis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ellis is trying to control but Nunez passes into side control!
Ellis tries to bench press Nunez off him but Nunez keeps the position.

Ellis is pushing Nunez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ellis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nunez's efforts to push away.

Ellis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Nunez closes the distance and clinches up with Ellis, looking for a takedown. Nunez pushes Ellis against the cage but Ellis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ellis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ellis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Nunez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nunez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Nunez winds up and cracks Ellis with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ellis has hold of Nunez's hands but Nunez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
It looks like Nunez is going to stand back up.
Nunez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Ellis is looking to get back to full guard here but Nunez has managed to pass to side control instead.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nunez looks up at the clock and then as Ellis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Nunez smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Waldo Nunez.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nunez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
