Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Waldo Claudiano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Touko Pouko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pouko throws the left hand but Claudiano avoids the punch easily.
A chopping leg kick lands by Claudiano.
Claudiano throws a leg kick which misses Pouko's front leg but catches the back leg as Pouko tries to avoid it.

Pouko pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Claudiano back to the cage. Pouko follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pouko working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Claudiano closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Claudiano lands in his opponent's guard.

Claudiano misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Claudiano remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Claudiano lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pouko has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pouko and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Waldo Claudiano.
