Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Josh Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitali Saromenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Josh Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vitali Saromenko!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steel gets the takedown into side control.
Saromenko manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Saromenko slows the pace down in half guard.
Saromenko wants to stand but Steel has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Steel tries to get to full guard but Saromenko has control of the leg.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Steel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Saromenko is one step ahead there.
Steel wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Saromenko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Steel defends it well.

Saromenko feints and as Steel raises his hands in defense, Saromenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saromenko wants to get up but he can't break Steel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Saromenko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Steel wants to sweep but no luck.

Saromenko decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Steel, up you get!

Vitali Saromenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Steel wants to control but Saromenko is keeping him busy.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Steel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Saromenko to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Saromenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Steel wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Saromenko closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Steel drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Saromenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Saromenko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Steel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saromenko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steel has managed to get both his arms back between Saromenko's legs - danger averted.
Saromenko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Saromenko has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Steel is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Saromenko.

Saromenko tries to buck Steel off but Steel is having none of it.
Josh Steel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vitali Saromenko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Vitali Saromenko.
Well Saromenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
