The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Persico to score with a decent uppercut.
Persico works the jab nicely.
Persico avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
A big left from Persico misses.
Cortez half committed to a counter leg kick.
Cortez tries a low kick but Persico avoids it.
Persico swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Persico's corner calls for a 1-2. Persico obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Cortez throws a low kick but Persico avoids it.
Cortez connects with a leg kick. Persico looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Tristan Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Persico misses with a right hand
and Cortez counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Cortez throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Cortez throws out a leg kick but Persico moves out of range and Cortez only half commits.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Persico checks a leg kick.
Persico takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Persico blocks a low kick nicely.
Cortez throws a solid leg kick but Persico takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Cortez.
Persico missing with a left hand there. Cortez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cortez throws a body kick that misses.
Persico looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cortez attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Persico misses with a straight left.
Cortez throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Persico scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cortez doesn't seem bothered though.
Cortez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Cortez misses with a body kick.
Persico stuns Cortez with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Persico works the jab nicely.
Cortez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Persico is out of range and Cortez settles back down.
Persico fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Cortez to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Cortez looks to clinch but Persico throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Cortez taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
