Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mato Ramljak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sean Obrien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mato Ramljak!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Obrien bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Obrien has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Danga de danga de dang - Ramljak scores with a four punch combination!

Obrien manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ramljak on his heels. He'll look to pass Ramljak's guard now, I'm sure.
Ramljak is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Obrien is controlling him.
Obrien throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ramljak works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Obrien throws a strike but Ramljak rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Ramljak gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Obrien misses with a wild combination.
Ramljak slips a straight right by Obrien.
Ramljak avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ramljak misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mato Ramljak is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ramljak scores with a jab. Obrien acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ramljak scores with a hook.
Nice takedown defense from Ramljak. No joy for Obrien on that attempt.
A nice side step and Ramljak releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Sean Obrien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramljak lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Obrien at a distance.
Obrien looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ramljak swats away the attempt to clinch by Obrien.
A nice combination there by Ramljak.
Ramljak connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Obrien's hands.
A punch combination from Obrien misses.
It seemed like Ramljak was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ramljak misses the shot to the body.

Obrien closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ramljak prevents Obrien from moving into mount.

Obrien is trying to get an arm triangle but Ramljak is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ramljak is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Obrien lands a few punches from side control.
Ramljak takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Obrien working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Obrien knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ramljak on the ground.
Ramljak is not content to let Obrien control the position.
Obrien in side control lands a decent elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ramljak takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Obrien fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Obrien working the ground and pound but Ramljak is defending the strikes.
Obrien working the strikes but Ramljak uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Ramljak should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Obrien throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ramljak to regain full guard.

Obrien decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ramljak looks winded!
Obrien throws a hook to the side of Ramljak's head but Ramljak sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Obrien scores with a nice right hand.

Ramljak gets caught flat footed, as Obrien shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Obrien showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Obrien throws a big elbow that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Obrien working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Obrien's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ramljak keeping moving, preventing Obrien from controlling successfully.
Obrien landing with the ground and pound.
Obrien throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ramljak works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Obrien content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sean Obrien will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ramljak get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Ramljak stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Obrien runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sean Obrien!
