Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kenneth Francis!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butler shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Francis counters with a shoot takedown. Butler fights it but they end up in guard.
Butler manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Francis manages to get himself to full guard.

Butler slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Butler wants to control from the top but Francis keeps moving.
Francis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Butler tries to free his leg and advance position but Francis is retaining full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Francis can do anything to dispel that myth.
Butler pushes down on Francis's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Butler is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Francis on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Butler wants to free his trapped foot but Francis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Butler lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Butler moves nicely into side control.
Butler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Francis takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Francis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Butler is staying tight to Francis's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Butler tries to advance to mount but can't.

Butler lands a big shot there that rocks Francis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Butler loads up with a big shot that hurts Francis! He's pulled Butler in close but Butler has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Francis survive? More strikes from Butler and Francis is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jake Butler!
Jake Butler got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
In defeat, Kenneth Francis stepped up to the mic, saying 'Have a break, have a kit kat.'.
