Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Barrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gurge Si Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Si Pierre goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Sergio Barrett has been cut.
Barrett shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Si Pierre as he avoids it easily.
Barrett shoots in but no luck this time.
Barrett fails with an attempt to clinch.
Si Pierre changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Si Pierre keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And Si Pierre tries to counter it with a takedown but Barrett pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Barrett seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Barrett misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Si Pierre drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Barrett defends it well.
Si Pierre pivots, looking for a leg kick but Barrett is out of range and Si Pierre settles back down.

Barrett drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Barrett throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Si Pierre tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barrett is in Si Pierre's guard.

Si Pierre pushes Barrett off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Barrett tries to score a power double leg takedown but Si Pierre sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Barrett somewhat.

Barrett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Si Pierre's waist but Si Pierre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barrett off to one side.
Si Pierre leaves Barrett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Barrett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Si Pierre circles away.

Barrett shoots in looking for a takedown. Si Pierre tries to sprawl out of it but Barrett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Si Pierre manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Si Pierre wants to get up but he can't break Barrett's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Barrett pulls Si Pierre in close to prevent any damage.
Si Pierre is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Gurge Si Pierre is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Si Pierre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barrett swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Barrett looking to hit a scissor sweep but Si Pierre is one step ahead there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

and Barrett counters with a single leg into guard. Si Pierre didn't expect that.
Barrett is fighting to break Si Pierre's control of his arms but Si Pierre is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well Si Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
