Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Merlin Goodwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Skeeles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Skeeles told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Goodwin misses
and Skeeles makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Skeeles lands a high kick!

It looks like Merlin Goodwin has been cut.
Skeeles misses with an uppercut

and Goodwin counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Skeeles told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Goodwin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Skeeles uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Goodwin has time to react.
Skeeles cracks Goodwin with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Goodwin tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Skeeles pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Goodwin is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
