PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bill Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Locker Arm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bill Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Locker Arm!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns tries to sprawl but Arm drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Burns actively working from the bottom here.

Burns won't allow Arm to pass to mount.
Burns is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burns dodges the ground and pound from Arm.

Arm is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Burns has escaped the position, nice work there.
Burns tries to buck Arm off but Arm is having none of it.
Burns is being controlled here.
Burns is looking to regain half guard here but Arm keeps moving and retains side control.
Arm prevents Burns from escaping the position.

Arm stands up and beckons Burns to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burns throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Arm tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Burns is in Arm's guard.
Burns wants to pass the guard but Arm is keeping the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Arm is looking to sweep but instead, Burns has passed into half guard.
Burns looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Locker Arm dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Arm shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Burns manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Burns keeping moving, preventing Arm from controlling successfully.
Arm is pushing down on Burns's leg trying to pass to half guard. Burns is fighting to maintain full guard but Arm has managed to sneak the leg through.
Arm trying to control the action but Burns is working from the bottom.

Arm escapes and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arm gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Arm pulls guard effortlessly.

Burns avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arm swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Arm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns looking to pass the guard.
Burns trying to control but Arm is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Burns looking to pass the guard.
Arm is trying to keep Burns in close.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Burns trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
We've been informed that Arm has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Arm looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burns is fending him off so far but Arm persists. Nope, Burns circles away and we're back to standing.

and Burns counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Arm!

Burns is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Arm is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Burns tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Burns has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Arm is looking for a sweep.

Burns wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Arm, who protects the arm well.
Burns working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Burns goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Arm has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Burns but great work by Arm.
Burns is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Burns gets back to half guard.
Arm seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Burns looks like he's trying to stand up.
Arm wants to pass the guard but Burns is defending well.
Arm looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Locker Arm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Burns moves into range and clinches up with Arm.

Burns has hold of one of Arm's legs. Arm is fighting the takedown attempt but Burns gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arm swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Arm looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Arm is looking for a sweep. Burns is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Burns wants to control but Arm is keeping him busy.

Burns is working for a submission of some sort.
Locker Arm has got the better of the ground game so far.

Burns is trying to work for a kimura but Arm is defending well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Arm has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burns is working away from the top position though.

Burns working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Arm looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Burns! Submission of the night perhaps?
