Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nigel Truck!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis tries to clinch there but Truck circles away.
Truck throws a jab but it's blocked by Lewis.

Truck scores with a takedown into Lewis's guard.
Truck advances to half guard.

Lewis has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Truck is on him like a limpet, forcing Lewis back against the cage.
Truck is trying to pull guard but Lewis has him pressed against the cage.
Lewis pushes off an throws an elbow but Truck leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Truck just leaning against Lewis, taking a breather.

I was talking to Lewis's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Truck trying to control the position but instead, Lewis has worked for underhooks and has pushed Truck into the cage.

Lewis is fighting off a takedown attempt but Truck is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lewis to the mat. Lewis regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Lewis has his feet on Truck's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Lewis feints a jab promting Truck to slip. Lewis then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Truck slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jon Lewis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lewis moves in looking to clinch but Truck pushes him off.
Truck throws a body shot but no joy.
Lewis is looking to counter punch.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Truck as he jumps to the side.

Jon Lewis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
