The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De La Cruz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Garrett Gallegos has been cut.
Gallegos shoots in looking for a takedown. De La Cruz tries to sprawl out of it but Gallegos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. De La Cruz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

De La Cruz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gallegos defends well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gallegos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That was a close round but I would say that Garrett Gallegos will probably get the nod.

and De La Cruz counters with a crisp one two that drops Gallegos! De La Cruz thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gallegos to his feet! Gallegos is in big trouble!

Gallegos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
De La Cruz fakes the body blow, causing Gallegos to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Gallegos goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
