Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Baldwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donold Trenchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson Baldwin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Baldwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donold Trenchard!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trenchard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Baldwin counters with a three punch combo that has Trenchard backing up. Trenchard nods at Baldwin to acknowledge the strikes.
Baldwin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And Trenchard tries to counter it with a takedown but Baldwin pushes his down on his head and steps out.

and Baldwin counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Baldwin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Trenchard.
Jackson Baldwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donold Trenchard.
Baldwin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baldwin wants it to stay on the feet.
Baldwin seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baldwin avoids the head kick by Trenchard.
Baldwin went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Baldwin throws a combination. Trenchard tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Baldwin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Baldwin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Baldwin prevents Trenchard from improving his position.

Baldwin wants to work for an arm triangle but Trenchard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Trenchard is trying to stand up here but Baldwin is controlling him well.
Baldwin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Baldwin wants to stand but Trenchard has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Trenchard manages to get to full guard.
Trenchard doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Baldwin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Baldwin postures up.
Baldwin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Trenchard works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Horrible takedown attempt by Trenchard or perhaps it was just good defense by Baldwin, which made it look bad.

Baldwin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Trenchard!

Trenchard explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

and Baldwin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Trenchard gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Trenchard wants to take the fight to the mat but Baldwin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Baldwin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Trenchard's efforts to push away.
Trenchard has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Baldwin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Baldwin has Trenchard pushed against the cage.

Baldwin pulls guard effortlessly.
Trenchard passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Trenchard tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Baldwin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trenchard on the ground.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Trenchard decides to stand up, so the ref orders Baldwin to his feet.
Trenchard shoots in but no luck this time.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Baldwin!
Baldwin shoots in but Trenchard avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson Baldwin dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Trenchard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Trenchard misses with a takedown
and Baldwin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Trenchard shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Baldwin is trying to defend but Trenchard finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Baldwin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Trenchard is controlling the pace.

Trenchard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Trenchard moves into full mount! Baldwin won't be happy about that!
Trenchard wants to control the pace but Baldwin is squirming around nicely.

Trenchard swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Baldwin is now in Trenchard's guard. A big mistake from Trenchard there, giving up the dominant position!

Trenchard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baldwin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Trenchard is tightening it up a little... Baldwin has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Baldwin reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Baldwin taps out! Nice BJJ there by Trenchard!
