Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alex Rhyder!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rhyder instigates a clinch.

Rhyder turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rhyder manages to end up in side control.
Wilcox controls the position for a moment.
Rhyder works to advance to full mount. Wilcox defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Rhyder controlling from the full mount.
Rhyder throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rhyder controlling the position easily from mount.
Wilcox is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Rhyder scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Rhyder sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Wilcox is looking to get to half guard.

Rhyder is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wilcox has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wilcox!
Rhyder is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Wilcox won't allow Rhyder to get back to his feet.

Rhyder looking for a guillotine here but Wilcox defends easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rhyder pulls Wilcox in close to prevent any damage.
Wilcox lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Wilcox throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rhyder works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilcox postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Wilcox cracks Rhyder with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rhyder looking for a sweep. Not yet Rhyder, not yet.
Wilcox has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wilcox with a nice head shot there.
Rhyder is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Wilcox with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Wilcox keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rhyder's head.

Wilcox stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Rhyder throws up his legs and catches Wilcox in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Wilcox tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Rhyder! That came out of nowhere!
