The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Brown. No joy for De Rick on that attempt.
De Rick lands with a nice body punch.

De Rick rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brown moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

De Rick changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brown looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

De Rick has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Brown is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Brown's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

De Rick is really struggling to control Brown but he's trying to hold on to the position.
De Rick is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Brown has a closed guard, preventing De Rick from standing up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
De Rick swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Brown counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Brown wants to slow De Rick down by chopping away at his legs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
De Rick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brown but Brown pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Brown scoring well with a low kick there.
Brown connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
De Rick shoots in but Brown avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Horrible takedown by De Rick or perhaps it was just good defense by Brown which made him look bad.

Brown lands a straight punch to the body, keeping De Rick at a distance.
De Rick with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Brown to score with a decent uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Brown throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
De Rick closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brown circles away.
De Rick lands a left and a right that sends Brown crashing to the canvas! De Rick dives into mount looking to finish!

It looks like Alfred Brown has been cut.
De Rick pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
