Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bo Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yjt Yrc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yjt Yrc will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yrc fails with the takedown
and Hood cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hood has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Yrc.

Yrc looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hood has one foot on Yrc's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Yrc will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Yrc fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hood to the ground. Yrc is now in Hood's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yrc looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Yrc lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yrc tries to free his leg and advance position but Hood is retaining full guard.
Yrc stops Hood from standing up.

Yrc stands up from Hood's guard - Yrc perhaps looking for a knockout.

Yrc drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Yrc decides to stand back up. Yrc steps back and let's Hood get back to his feet.
Yrc displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hood.

Hood has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Yrc has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Hood could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yrc tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Yrc is trying to drag Hood to the mat but Hood just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Bo Hood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yjt Yrc.
Yrc tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hood smiles and moves away.

Yrc fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hood tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Yrc manages to circle out of the way.
Hood changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yrc tries to avoid it but Hood manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yrc to the ground. Yrc escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hood gets tackled into the cage by Yrc. Yrc maintains the clinch.

Yrc has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hood regains guard immediately.

Yrc stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hood swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hood seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Hood is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Yrc postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hood is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yrc, into his guard.

Yrc is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Yjt Yrc will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Bo Hood's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Yrc is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hood's half guard.
Yjt Yrc has got the better of the ground game so far.

Yrc stands up from half guard.
Yrc tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hood paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hood thinks about countering with a head kick.
Hood tries to clinch but Yrc moves out of range.
Yrc just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yrc tries to keep at a distance but Hood has taken the fight into the clinch.

Yrc manages to break the clinch.
Yjt Yrc seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yrc tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yrc somewhat.

Hood pushes Yrc up against the cage in a clinch.
Yrc crunches a lovely knee into Hood's ribcage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Yrc breaks from the clinch.
Hood misses with a takedown

and Yrc counters by moving into the clinch.

Yrc gets control of Hood's arms and successfully pulls guard. Yrc will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Yrc is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Yrc is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Yrc stands up out of the half guard.
Bo Hood is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Yrc will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Yrc tries a head kick but it misses.
Hood drops down looking for a counter takedown but Yrc sprawls and moves away.
Yrc tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hood swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hood enables Yrc to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hood manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Yrc is in close to Hood's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Yrc. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Hood not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yrc postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hood goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Yrc looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Yrc instigates a clinch.
Yrc has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hood avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Yrc's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hood fails to pull guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hood jumps guard but Yrc stands there with Hood around his waist. Hood gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hood stops a takedown attempt from Yrc.
Yrc jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hood walks away with a smile on his face. Yrc gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Yrc pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hood throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Yrc tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hood is in Yrc's guard.

Yrc kicks Hood off and gets to his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Yrc or perhaps it was just good defense by Hood, which made it look bad.
Bo Hood is winning the standup battle so far.

Yrc closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hood did well to prevent Yrc getting side control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yrc is trying to control. Hood wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hood might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Yrc takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hood trying to hold on to Yrc's head to control him but Yrc postures up.
Yrc is controlling the pace.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Yrc is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Yrc seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Yrc is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hood!
Yrc takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hood holds on to Yrc as tight as he can, avoiding damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
