The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Washington has taken the fight to the clinch.
Khan gets through Washington's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Khan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
The referee calls for Washington to work.

Washington wants the takedown. Khan is fighting it off but Washington persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Khan's guard against the cage.
Washington connects with a couple of short punches.
Washington postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Washington controls from within his opponent's guard.
Khan can't keep his opponent in guard - Washington advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Washington turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Washington is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Khan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Washington lands an elbow.
Khan is looking for a sweep.

Washington thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Washington is working to tighten his grip on Khan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Khan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Washington is really squeezing tight and eventually Khan passes out! Washington breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
