Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jens Pulver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt swats away the attempt to clinch by Pulver.
Pulver connects with a jab.
It looks like Mike Hunt has been cut.
Pulver is looking to clinch.
Hunt tries for a takedown but Pulver sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Pulver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown but Pulver shows good takedown defense.
Hunt slips a jab and a cross from Pulver.
Hunt fails to land the takedown.
Jens Pulver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Hunt.
Hunt looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hunt drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pulver wants to get back to his feet but Hunt is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hunt throwing strikes but missing.
Pulver is looking to stand up but Hunt isn't so interested in that idea.
Hunt chips away with some ground and pound.
Hunt postures up in Pulver's guard and throws a big left but Pulver blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt stops Pulver from standing up.
Pulver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hunt is one step ahead there.
Pulver throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Pulver knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hunt on the ground.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Pulver closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Horrible takedown by Hunt or perhaps it was just good defense by Pulver which made him look bad.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hunt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pulver swivels and escapes.
Hunt looks gassed!
Hunt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pulver darts in and clinches Hunt up against the cage.
Hunt fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pulver breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pulver looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pulver keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Pulver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hunt looks for a takedown but Pulver sprawls well.
Pulver throws a body kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pulver forces Hunt back against the cage and clinches.
Pulver manages to break the clinch.
Hunt scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pulver wants to get back to full guard.
Pulver on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Ground and pound from Hunt.
Hunt is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Pulver misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hunt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pulver with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Pulver is trying to stand up here but Hunt is controlling him well.
Pulver manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Pulver takes the fight into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pulver lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Pulver wants to stand up but Hunt is controlling the position.
Hunt looking for submissions off his back.
Nice strikes from Pulver there.
Hunt regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hunt manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Pulver throwing hammer fists to the chest of Hunt. What's that going to do exactly?
Hunt lands a big elbow.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pulver tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A nice elbow there by Hunt.
Hunt jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pulver manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Check out the look on Hunt's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Pulver takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Pulver is looking to reverse the position.
Hunt has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hunt thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hunt lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Pulver down.
Pulver tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Pulver might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hunt has an Americana. Pulver didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hunt is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hunt hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mike Hunt!
