PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between The Prophet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky Thorton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Micky Thorton told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, The Prophet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micky Thorton!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Prophet.
Prophet wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Prophet fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thorton manages to avoid it.
Prophet definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Thorton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Prophet won't be happy with that.

Thorton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thorton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round but I would say that The Prophet will probably get the nod.

Thorton drops his hands momentarily and Prophet takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looked like Prophet wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

That was a close second round but I would say that The Prophet will probably get the nod.
