Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Mario Jesus and Kron Karelin. Jesus comes to the cage accompanied by Shakira - Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) (The Official 2010 FIFA World Cu. Kron Karelin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Karelin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jesus as he jumps to the side.

Jesus moves into the clinch.

Karelin is concentrating on defense, preventing Jesus from advancing position.
Karelin is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Karelin has his hands clasped together around Jesus's back. He's all about the action.

Karelin felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karelin is refusing to be controlled, as Jesus sits in half guard.
Karelin is trying to get back to full guard.
Jesus wants to take a breather but Karelin is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karelin is doing well to control the position and prevent Jesus from advancing to side control.
Let's hope that Karelin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Karelin.

Jesus is stalling here. Karelin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jesus seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Karelin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Karelin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Jesus is trying to control Karelin's posture but Karelin avoids it.

Karelin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jesus has escaped the position, nice work there.

Karelin content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Jesus is looking to reverse the position.

Karelin takes a little break here. Jesus wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
It looks like Karelin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Karelin is working to tighten his grip on Jesus's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Jesus has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Karelin is really squeezing tight and eventually Jesus passes out! Karelin breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
