And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aurelius gets a takedown into half guard.
Aurelius is thwarting Smotes's attempts to control the position.
Still in half guard, Aurelius seems content to control.
Smotes wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aurelius wants to take a breather but Smotes is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Aurelius shoots in looking for a takedown. Smotes tries to sprawl out of it but Aurelius keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smotes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Aurelius gets the takedown into side control.
Aurelius looks gassed!
Smotes can't do much from the bottom here.
Aurelius is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Smotes's shoulder. That is not cool.
Smotes sneaks back into half guard.
Smotes is looking to control Aurelius's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smotes avoid being mounted?
Smotes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Aurelius's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Aurelius's back!

Aurelius has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Smotes.
Aurelius is trying to stand back up.
Smotes looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Aurelius staying busy and making it hard for Smotes to control.
Smotes is punishing Aurelius with strikes - can he finish him?!

Aurelius covers up after that shot from Smotes.

Smotes tries to keep control of the position but Aurelius is staying busy.
Smotes lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Smotes has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Aurelius! Can he survive? No! He's out! Smotes gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
