Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crispino Nicolosi !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicolosi misses the jab.
Rhodes's coach down at Schneebly's Circuit Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rhodes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Rhodes slips under a jab.
Nicolosi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rhodes.
Rhodes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nicolosi moves out of range as Rhodes strikes.
Crispino Nicolosi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rhodes lands a body shot.
Nicolosi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Nicolosi takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rhodes pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nicolosi is out of range and Rhodes settles back down.
Rhodes is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Rhodes thows a left - swing and a miss!
It looked like Nicolosi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Nicolosi tries to clinch but Rhodes moves out of range.
Nicolosi avoids the body shot from Rhodes.
Nicolosi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nicolosi doesn't manage to clinch there - Rhodes circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rhodes digs a good body shot into Nicolosi 's ribs.
A shot to the body from Nicolosi misses
and Rhodes counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Crispino Nicolosi has been cut.
Nicolosi slips a straight right by Rhodes.
Nicolosi swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Rhodes bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Nicolosi walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Nicolosi is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Max Rhodes!
Max Rhodes tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
In defeat, Crispino Nicolosi stepped up to the mic, saying 'A fanabla!'.
