PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre THE GIANT (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sione Finau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). THE GIANT comes to the cage accompanied by Last Resort. Finau is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Ninja Gaiden" by The Minibosses. On his way into the cage it seems that Andre THE GIANT has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Andre THE GIANT seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andre THE GIANT!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sione Finau!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finau lands a nice looking kick to the body. THE GIANT takes a step back to recover.
THE GIANT tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Finau swivels and escapes.
Finau fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt THE GIANT.
THE GIANT on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Finau. Finau obviously looking to wear him down.
THE GIANT is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Finau waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract THE GIANT. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped THE GIANT to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

It looks like Andre THE GIANT has been cut.
Finau passes into half guard.
Finau controlling the pace.
Finau is pressing down on THE GIANT's thigh, looking to free his foot. THE GIANT is holding on for now.
Finau keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
THE GIANT wants to get back to full guard.
Finau perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Finau lands strikes from half guard.
THE GIANT on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Finau is nestled in close to THE GIANT, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Finau seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Finau content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
THE GIANT is trying to control but can't.
THE GIANT is looking for a sweep. Finau is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Finau moves nicely into side control.
THE GIANT on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Finau remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Check out the look on Finau's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Finau's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
THE GIANT takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Finau remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Despite being in the dominant position, Sione Finau just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
THE GIANT is looking to land body kicks.

Finau misses with a body kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Finau.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Finau throws a combination but it was largely blocked by THE GIANT.
Finau lands with a right hand.
Finau fakes the body blow, causing THE GIANT to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! THE GIANT goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
