Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roderick Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Kuntz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roderick Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rusty Kuntz!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kuntz shoots in and gets a takedown into Wells's guard.
Wells might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kuntz throwing strikes from guard but Wells blocks nicely.
Kuntz trying to control the position from guard on top but Wells is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kuntz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kuntz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Wells keeping moving, preventing Kuntz from controlling successfully.
Kuntz looking to sit in guard and control but Wells gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kuntz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wells's guard.

Kuntz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wells haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kuntz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kuntz with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kuntz won't allow Wells to get back to his feet.

Kuntz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Wells seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Wells is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Kuntz takes the fight into the clinch.

Kuntz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kuntz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wells manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Wells really is a fat lump.
Wells wants to stand but Kuntz is controlling the position.
Wells can't keep his opponent in guard - Kuntz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wells is trying to stand up here but Kuntz is controlling him well.
Wells is looking to control Kuntz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wells avoid being mounted?
Wells tries to kick Kuntz off but Kuntz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Wells holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kuntz is looking to take a break and control but Wells is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rusty Kuntz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kuntz fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kuntz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wells takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rusty Kuntz dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kuntz is looking to clinch.
Wells takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Roderick Wells has been cut.
Kuntz throws a lazy head kick
and Wells counters with a left and a right that stings Kuntz.
Roderick Wells is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kuntz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wells.
Kuntz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wells misses with a head kick.

Kuntz scores with a takedown into Wells's guard.
Kuntz throwing strikes but missing.
Kuntz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Wells is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kuntz is controlling him.
Kuntz wants to stand but Wells is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kuntz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kuntz distracts Wells with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Wells keeping moving, preventing Kuntz from controlling successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kuntz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kuntz throwing shots but Wells is blocking nicely.
Wells works his way to full guard. Good work.
Wells keeping moving, preventing Kuntz from controlling successfully.

Kuntz stands up and waves to Wells to follow him.

Kuntz tries to keep at a distance but Wells has taken the fight into the clinch.

Wells gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Kuntz wants to stand up but Wells is controlling him.
Kuntz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well, if Kuntz is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Kuntz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wells keeps working.
Kuntz wants to pass to mount but Wells is defending the position.
Kuntz moves into full mount! Wells won't be happy about that!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wells is squirming around, avoiding Kuntz's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rusty Kuntz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Roderick Wells's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kuntz throws an elbow that misses. Wells uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kuntz's guard. Nice move by Wells!

Wells looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Wells wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kuntz, who protects the arm well.
Kuntz looks to move to half guard but instead Wells has passed into mount! Damn!

Wells is landing with some decent strikes but Kuntz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Kuntz tries to improve his position but Wells has taken his back! Wells has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Kuntz tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Wells pushes Kuntz away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Roderick Wells!
