PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kensei Hitori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Crash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kensei Hitori!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Crash!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crash lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Crash.

Crash gets caught flat footed, as Hitori shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hitori could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Crash trying to control the position.
Hitori tries to free his leg and advance position but Crash is retaining full guard.

Hitori might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Crash is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Crash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hitori gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hitori is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hitori tries to clinch but Crash is having none of it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hitori fails with a takedown attempt.
Hitori is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Hitori fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Crash, pushing him back against the cage.
Crash tries to pull guard but Hitori holds him up against the cage and eventually Crash drops back down to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crash blocks the elbow strike.
Hitori effectively controlling the action here.
Crash has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hitori is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Crash drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kensei Hitori has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Crash.

Hitori manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hitori not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Crash with a flurry of punches that miss.

Hitori escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crash gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Crash stays in close to Hitori's body and controls the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Crash passes Hitori's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hitori wants to control but Crash is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kensei Hitori will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Hitori tries a head kick but it misses.
Crash looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Crash shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hitori counters with a takedown into side control.
Crash is looking to reverse the position.
Hitori is looking to take a break and control but Crash is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hitori is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Crash has escaped the position, nice work there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Crash gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hitori prevents Crash from improving his position.

Hitori is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Crash is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hitori's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hitori's back!
Hitori wants to control his opponent's hands but Crash gets his hands free.

Crash is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Hitori with him. Hitori is trying to defend but Crash has an arm under the chin now! Hitori grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Michael Crash!
