PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felix Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jek Evi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Evi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Evi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Todd knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Todd is trying to control Evi's posture but Evi avoids it.
Evi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Todd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Evi is staying tight to Todd's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Todd pushes Evi away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Evi gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Evi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Todd manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Todd is trying to control. Evi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Evi is not content to let Todd control the position.
Evi avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Todd.
Todd really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Todd stands up from half guard.

Evi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Todd will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Todd is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Evi is controlling him.

Evi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Todd has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Evi has managed to get both his arms back between Todd's legs - danger averted.

Todd escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Evi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evi controls from within his opponent's guard.

Evi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Todd is working an open guard so Evi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Evi counters with a crisp one two that drops Todd! Evi thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Todd to his feet! Todd is in big trouble!

Todd is rocked!
Evi steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Todd is out on his feet! Evi sets himself and nearly takes Todd's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
