I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Pieter Daan Mostert was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mostert fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Aldo is out of range.
Aldo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Mostert looks to land a combination but Aldo avoids it well.
Aldo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
A jab lands there for Aldo.
Decent striking displayed by Aldo there.
Mostert has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Aldo.
Mostert takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
We've been informed that Mostert has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Aldo counters with a huge left! Mostert is in big trouble! He's backing up but Aldo isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Mostert from any more damage. A dominating finish by Aldo!
