Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusev Kahilov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rusev Kahilov!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob throws a combination that misses

and Kahilov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Bob wants to get back to his feet.

Bob kicks off Kahilov and gets to his feet.
Bob throws a lazy body kick

and Kahilov counters with a takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bob pushes Kahilov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kahilov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Bob has his hands clasped together around Kahilov's back. He's all about the action.

Bob is looking to escape.
Kahilov wants to take a breather but Bob is having none of it.
Bob pushes Kahilov off looking to stand but Kahilov dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bob closes the distance and clinches.
Kahilov stalls.
Kahilov blocks a punch to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bob wants to break the clinch but can't.

Kahilov avoids the elbow strike from Bob, against the cage.
Bob is trying to push Kahilov away but Kahilov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kahilov - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Bob wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Bob is trying to break the clinch but Kahilov has him pressed against the cage.
Bob wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kahilov has him pressed against the cage.
Bob misses with the head strike.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bob is trying to break the clinch but Kahilov is controlling him.
Kahilov blocks an elbow strike from Bob.
Bob trying to land knees to the body.

The referee is keeping an eye on Kahilov - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rob Bob will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Kahilov clinches up with Bob and pushes him back against the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rusev Kahilov.
Kahilov takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A punch combination from Bob misses.
Kahilov with the counter takedown but Bob avoids it easily.

Bob gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kahilov is pushing Bob up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Bob wants to break free but Kahilov has control.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
The referee calls for Kahilov to work.
Bob is trying to force a seperation but Kahilov has the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bob is trying to break free.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bob is looking to break free of the clinch but Kahilov has double underhooks.
Kahilov slows down the pace here.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rusev Kahilov.
Bob throws a leg kick that is checked

and Kahilov counters with a shoot takedown. Bob fights it but they end up in guard.

Bob kicks Kahilov off and gets to his feet.
Bob swinging wildly here.
Kahilov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bob.
Bob misses with a lunging right hand

and Kahilov counters with a single leg into guard. Bob didn't expect that.

Bob is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kahilov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Bob really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kahilov manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

The crowd are getting on Kahilov's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Bob dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


A looping hook to the body misses from Kahilov. Bob does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bob lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Kahilov slips a jab and a cross from Bob.
The fighters circling - Kahilov throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bob swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Bob uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kahilov.
Sloppy strikes from Bob. Those never looked like landing.
Bob lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kahilov circles away quickly and effectively.

Bob misses with a shot to the body

and Kahilov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bob won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bob is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kahilov is controlling him well.
Kahilov works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kahilov is looking to take a break and control but Bob is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rob Bob overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bob can't do much from the bottom here.
Kahilov wants to control but Bob is keeping him busy.
Kahilov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bob. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kahilov prevents Bob from escaping the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bob scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Bob throws a series of punches but Kahilov moves out of range.
Bob misses with a wild body shot.

Bob drives through and clinches with Kahilov against the cage.
Kahilov stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Kahilov keeps control of Bob as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Rusev Kahilov seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Bob is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kahilov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bob to the mat. Bob regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Bob is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kahilov is controlling him.

Bob pushes Kahilov off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Kahilov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bob appears to be looking for a big counter.
Kahilov blocks a head kick by Bob.
Bob misses with a two punch combination.
Kahilov feints the counter takedown.
Rob Bob is winning the standup battle so far.

Kahilov closes the distance and clinches.

Kahilov slows down the pace here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kahilov trying to land knees to the body.
Kahilov's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Bob is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kahilov is keeping busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rob Bob showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bob, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
