Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stanley Burrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burrell comes to the cage accompanied by Can't Touch This. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 20 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stanley Burrell !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Spiteri!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiteri checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Burrell throws out a leg kick but Spiteri moves out of range and Burrell only half commits.
Burrell throws an overhand right that lands on Spiteri's shoulder, as Spiteri tries to avoid the shot.
Burrell throws a hook to the side of Spiteri's head but Spiteri sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Spiteri misses with the combination.
Spiteri takes a swing at Burrell 's ribcage but misses.
A little feinted left hand from Burrell on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Burrell throws a low kick but it's checked well by Spiteri.
A looping hook to the body misses from Burrell . Spiteri does a little dance to reset his feet.
Spiteri uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burrell .
Spiteri throws a jab when Burrell was well out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burrell works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Spiteri takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Spiteri bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Spiteri throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Burrell was covering up waiting for the punch and Spiteri finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Burrell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Spiteri off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Spiteri shoots for a double leg takedown but Burrell sprawls well. He's pushed Spiteri's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Burrell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And Spiteri tries to counter it with a takedown but Burrell pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Burrell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Spiteri.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dave Spiteri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spiteri throws a lazy right hand but Burrell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Spiteri jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Burrell lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
