The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figueira throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Figueira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jakob's waist but Jakob gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Figueira off to one side.

Jakob might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jakob knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Figueira on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jakob closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Figueira is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jakob has his hands clasped together but Figueira extends an breaks Jakob's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Figueira.
