The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zorro throws a leg kick that is checked

and Oliveira counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Oliveira .
Oliveira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zorro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Oliveira drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zorro looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zorro looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zorro!

Oliveira tries to bench press Zorro off him but Zorro keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zorro is in a bad position with Oliveira working for a choke. Zorro manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Oliveira is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Oliveira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zorro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Zorro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Oliveira swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Zorro is now in Oliveira 's guard. A big mistake from Oliveira there, giving up the dominant position!

That was a close round but I would say that Marko Zorro will probably get the nod.

Zorro sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Oliveira uses his free foot to push down on Zorro's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zorro.
Zorro stops Oliveira from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
