The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roman looking to score a takedown here. Dean is defending well but Roman drives through and ends up in Dean's guard.
Dean can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Roman controls the pace.
Dean really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dean tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Dean is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Roman passes Dean's left leg - he's now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dean wants to control but Roman is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Roman winds up and cracks Dean with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Roman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Roman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Roman is nestled in close to Dean, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Roman is looking to advance position but Dean won't allow it.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Roman lands a nice short elbow.
Roman is pressing down on Dean's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dean is holding on for now.
Roman uses his free foot to push down on Dean's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dean.
Roman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dean is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Broken Halo's -Temple of Illumination, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Roman tries to control but Dean wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roman lands a couple of good shots and Dean has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Dean rolls, trying to escape but Roman keeps control of the position.

Dean won't enjoy being in this position. Roman looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Dean is tapping - it's over boys! Roman picks up the submission victory!
