The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Byers closes the distance and clinches.
Byers tries a body shot but Black blocks it.
Byers struggles to land a body shot inside as Black controls his hands.
Byers misses with a short punch on the inside.
Black wants to break free but Byers has control.
A head punch on the inside from Byers fails to land.
Byers misses with a knee to the head.
Byers lands a good knee to the midsection. Black won't want to take too many of those.
Black blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Byers is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Black is defending well for now.
Byers lands a hook that snaps the head of Black backwards.

Black escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Darryl Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Byers lands a nice shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Byers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Black tries to avoid it but Byers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Black to the ground. Black escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Byers keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Byers went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Black shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Byers defends it nicely.
Byers attempts a counter takedown but Black avoids it well and moves away.

Byers throws a series of strikes that have Black backpedaling.

It looks like Darryl Black has been cut.

Black lands a big head kick that sends Byers tumbling to the mat! Black takes a step backwards and waves Byers back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Byers is rocked!

Black closes the distance and clinches.
Oh Byers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Black breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Black dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Byers has had enough and taps out.
