Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shannon Larratt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larratt has chosen Cannibal Corpse - Stripped, Raped and Strangled as his entrance music. The key to victory for Rodney Smith has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to land a body kick
so Larratt counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Larratt working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Larratt has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Smith to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Larratt is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Smith pulls down on the head and he's put Larratt to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rodney Smith!
A pretty intense looking Rodney Smith took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
