The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodic drives through with a takedown into Bender's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rodic trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bender will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rodic throws a strike but Bender rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bender loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bender prevents Rodic from getting back to his feet.
Rodic working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bender.

Rodic pushes Bender off and gets back to his feet.
Rodic slips a jab and a cross from Bender.
And Rodic tries to counter it with a takedown but Bender pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Rodic gets a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rodic is trying to work for a kimura but Bender is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodic stops Bender from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodic is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

It looks like Yong Bender has been cut.
Rodic throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bender to regain full guard.
Rodic lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Bender is rocked!
Rodic gets to his feet and stands over Bender, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Bender felt that one! Rodic unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Bender from any more punishment!
