PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Bradshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Donnie Bradshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tommy Anderson !
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Donnie Bradshaw has been cut.

Anderson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bradshaw tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Anderson is in Bradshaw's guard.
Anderson trying to control but Bradshaw is working from the bottom.
Bradshaw tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Anderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bradshaw wants to get back to his feet but Anderson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bradshaw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Anderson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson passes Bradshaw's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bradshaw manages to get to full guard.

Anderson wants to get up but he can't break Bradshaw's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bradshaw seems keen to control Anderson 's posture.

Bradshaw is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Anderson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Anderson distracts Bradshaw with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Bradshaw wants to sweep but no luck.
Bradshaw keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully.

Bradshaw manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Bradshaw is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Anderson 's half guard.

Anderson pushes Bradshaw off and gets back to his feet.
Tommy Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bradshaw seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Bradshaw scores with a takedown into Anderson 's guard.

Anderson looking for a guillotine here but Bradshaw defends easily.
Bradshaw works over Anderson with some ground and pound from guard.
Bradshaw not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Bradshaw drops back looking for a leg! Anderson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anderson manages to kick Bradshaw off! Bradshaw jumps back into Anderson 's guard.

Bradshaw looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bradshaw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Anderson being controlled here, momentarily.

Bradshaw thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bradshaw prevents Anderson from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Anderson !

Anderson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bradshaw napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Bradshaw throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Anderson looks winded!

Anderson clinches up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tommy Anderson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Donnie Bradshaw's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Bradshaw gets the takedown into side control.

Bradshaw wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anderson , who protects the arm well.
Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bradshaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bradshaw gets to mount! Anderson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Anderson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bradshaw scores with a couple of good head shots there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson is wriggling around trying to escape.

Bradshaw moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Anderson has worked his arm free - good work by Anderson !

Bradshaw wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anderson , who protects the arm well.

Bradshaw connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Anderson some visible discomfort.

Bradshaw is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Anderson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Anderson is not content to let Bradshaw control the position.

Bradshaw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bradshaw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bradshaw in side control lands a decent elbow.

Bradshaw thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Anderson is looking to regain half guard here but Bradshaw keeps moving and retains side control.

Bradshaw tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Donnie Bradshaw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bradshaw is trying to get an arm triangle but Anderson is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anderson tries to bench press Bradshaw off him but Bradshaw keeps the position.
Bradshaw controls the position from side control.
Bradshaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bradshaw thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bradshaw gets to mount! Anderson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Anderson wants to hold on but Bradshaw pushes him away.

Anderson tries to improve his position but Bradshaw has taken his back! Bradshaw has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Anderson tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Bradshaw pushes Anderson away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
