The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ryan quickly recovers to half guard.

Ryan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Maia is on him like a limpet, forcing Ryan back against the cage.
Maia jumps guard but Ryan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Maia is trying to pull guard but Ryan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Ryan tightens his grip and picks Maia up, before dumping him to the ground. Maia manages to land in guard.

Maia has his foot on Ryan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ryan works his way back into a safe position though.
