Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Elroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucky Makhanya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Elroy cracks Makhanya with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Elroy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Makhanya to stand back up!

It looks like Lucky Makhanya has been cut.
Makhanya loads up on a big right hand but Elroy slips the punch.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Makhanya postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Makhanya stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Elroy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elroy has momentary wrist control but Makhanya slips an elbow through the middle.
Elroy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Makhanya is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Elroy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Elroy drops Makhanya with a beautiful combination! Makhanya stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Elroy is looking for the KO!
