Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colin ODonnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Fat by Wierd Al. Colin ODonnell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Colin ODonnell!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ODonnell does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but ODonnell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
ODonnell misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
ODonnell moves out of range of the body kick from Johnson.

Johnson rushes ODonnell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Johnson is stalling here.

ODonnell successfully pulls guard.
ODonnell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson passes into half guard.
Johnson wants to stand but ODonnell has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

ODonnell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
ODonnell tries to land a sweep but no joy.

ODonnell keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but ODonnell is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
ODonnell looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Johnson gets a clinch.
ODonnell's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
ODonnell can't get the takedown.
ODonnell keeps control of Johnson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Johnson.

Johnson lands a nice shot to the body.

ODonnell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. ODonnell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Johnson stays in close to ODonnell's body and controls the position.

ODonnell keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
Johnson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
ODonnell wants to control but Johnson postures up.
ODonnell is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Johnson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Johnson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Johnson slips a nice elbow through ODonnell's hands, connecting with ODonnell's forehead.

Johnson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
ODonnell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.
ODonnell is trying to stand back up but Johnson is controlling him

Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
ODonnell wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


ODonnell swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.
ODonnell dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but ODonnell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Johnson throws a leg kick which misses ODonnell's front leg but catches the back leg as ODonnell tries to avoid it.
Johnson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


It looks like Colin ODonnell has been cut.
Johnson scores with a shot to the body.

ODonnell manages to break the clinch.

Johnson wants to get back to striking at distance but ODonnell won't allow it.
Johnson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Johnson tries to break free but ODonnell pushes him back against the cage.

ODonnell breaks the clinch.
Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
ODonnell throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Joe Johnson has been cut.
ODonnell looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.
ODonnell on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Johnson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that ODonnell can do to turn this around?
Johnson misses with the combination.
ODonnell feints the counter takedown.
Johnson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Johnson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. ODonnell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. ODonnell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! ODonnell rolls with it to try and escape but Johnson cranks on the arm and ODonnell is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
