The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hohepa is looking to clinch.
Sanchez thuds a left hand into Hohepa's body.
Ronnie Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanchez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sanchez fails to land with a series of punches.
Sanchez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Sanchez cracks Hohepa with an open hand slap.

It looks like Tua Hohepa has been cut.
Hohepa misses with a takedown
and Sanchez counters with a straight right hand.
Hohepa moves away from the strike by Sanchez.
Sanchez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hohepa looks for a takedown but Sanchez sprawls well.
Hohepa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sanchez swivels and escapes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sanchez stands and throws Hohepa's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hohepa seems to have recovered his senses.

You can see the frustration on Hohepa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sanchez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hohepa's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hohepa is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sanchez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Sanchez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hohepa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hohepa wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hohepa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Hohepa's legs - danger averted.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hohepa keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hohepa darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Sanchez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A lazy left from Sanchez finds it's target.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sanchez, as that shot connected.
Hohepa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hohepa off to one side.
Hohepa gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Sanchez gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
