PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Perseen Suti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bernhard Adelhard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adelhard has chosen Godsmack - I Stand Alone as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bernhard Adelhard!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adelhard lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Suti throws a head kick that misses.
Adelhard fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Suti tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Suti dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Adelhard. That did some damage!
Adelhard tries to land a front kick but Suti steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Adelhard darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Adelhard wants to control but Suti is keeping him busy.
Suti regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Adelhard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Adelhard wants to free his trapped foot but Suti is holding on for dear life with his legs.
My spies in River's Edge Gym inform me that Adelhard has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Suti steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Adelhard. That one must have hurt.

Adelhard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Suti can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Suti shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Adelhard's guard.

Adelhard jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Suti is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Suti and Adelhard has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Suti is looking to regain half guard here but Adelhard keeps moving and retains side control.
Adelhard lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Suti down.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Perseen Suti.
