Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Nakamori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamori lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Carter has been cut.

Nakamori has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Carter avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Carter jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nakamori walks away with a smile on his face. Carter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nakamori shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carter pinned against the cage. Carter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carter takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Hiro Nakamori seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carter steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Nakamori. That one must have hurt.

Nakamori should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fight stays on the outside here - Nakamori looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Nakamori throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nakamori off to one side.

Carter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nakamori smiles and moves away.
Nakamori dives in and grabs Carter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carter pushes down on Nakamori's head and hops out.

Carter lands with a kick to the temple. Nakamori shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Carter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nakamori napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carter is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nakamori's shoulder. That is not cool.

Carter laying and praying for a moment but Nakamori takes advantage and regains half guard.

Nakamori escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

As Nakamori looks to move away, Carter throws a big counter combo but Nakamori just gets out of the way.
